The Students Union was founded during the 1990-91 academic year. Its objective is to contribute to the development of the School and to ensure a high level of education.
One of the primary aims of the Union is to facilitate the smooth introduction of new students in the academic community. In addition, the Union organizes lectures and seminars to keep students updated on employment opportunities and developments in the field of Economics. It also aims to promote the active participation of students in scientific conferences and workshops.
SU administrative body
The Students Union elects a Steering Board. All students’ representatives are elected during the student elections that take place yearly in the beginning of April. The students participate in the School General Assembly as well as in other administrative bodies of the University e.g. in the Senate.
The Students Union Steering Board is responsible for all issues related to students. All decisions are taken by the Students General Assembly, which is the main governing body and convenes when deemed necessary. The five-member boards for each year of studies deal with issues that are specific to this year. The students’ representatives in the School’s General Assembly participate in the School administration, for example in the decision-making for issues such as the School Curriculum and its implementation (in what refers to student-related issues).
